The only defect that I have found is that it uses too much CPU while playing 1080p movie comparing Plex which supports hardware decoding. MPlayer OSX Extended is the best player for my mac, which can play movie of almost all codecs and is the only player that can render non-unicode ASS/SSA correctly.
